SynDaver Introduces New Synthetic Humans for anatomy education, medical training

The improved models are more realistic than ever. They feature a new type of SynDaver Synthetic Tissue, which reduces care requirements. They are available with a newly designed storage tank and come with a 10-year success guarantee.

TAMPA, Fla. – SynDaver, a global leader in synthetic anatomy technology, announced the release of their new advanced SynDaver Synthetic Humans on Wednesday. The innovative models will be used in classrooms around the world and will improve health outcomes for humans and animals worldwide.

The improved SynDaver Synthetic Humans are designed for both general education and medical training, and can be equipped to simulate specialized surgical procedures. They now feature enhanced realism with updated abdominal vasculature, improved organs and will include additional synthetic ligaments, which will expand their utility to fields like physical therapy, occupational therapy and orthopedics.

According to a recent medical study conducted by Cornell University, students who practiced feline spay surgeries utilizing SynDaver’s CopyCat were far more confident when performing actual surgeries. Operating time was reduced, the patient experienced less pain and the overall outcomes of surgical procedures significantly improved, the study said.

In addition to the significant anatomical design improvements, SynDaver has introduced simplified care procedures for its synthetic tissue, and due to their unprecedented durability, is now offering a 10-year success guarantee.

Additionally, the new SynDavers require reduced care procedures. Traditionally, SynDaver’s Synthetic Tissue required submersion in a liquid solution and the use of chlorine, algaecides, as well as a circulation pump for maintenance.

The latest synthetic tissue used in SynDaver’s Synthetic Humans eliminates these requirements. SynDaver’s new synthetic tissue is designed to be submerged in a recommended care solution consisting of just 10 percent isopropyl alcohol and 90 percent water. This solution helps maintain the synthetic tissue’s shape and elasticity while eliminating the need for regular water changes and additional chemicals.

SynDaver’s synthetic tissue models have been adopted by leading colleges and universities for medical and veterinary training.
