SynTissue™ brand synthetic human adult skin is realistically textured on the surface and smooth on the subcutaneous side. This tissue incorporates discrete layers that move independently from one another, with a natural wear layer of dead skin at the surface. It was designed with extensive input from our clients to exhibit realistic puncture resistance, suture holding, and electrocautery and laser scalpel performance. We employ this tissue in our complex limb and torso models, in tissue plates, and in many other applications.

Skin color and toughness may be selected below. Standard skin exhibits a mean force of approximately 2N (Newtons) in our normal penetration test, and this selection is an appropriate mimic for most skin on the human body (face, forearm, groin, etc). Skins exhibiting greater penetration values are appropriate for thicker and more callused areas (feet, palms, elbows, etc) of the body. Penetration values up to 10N are available. Typical human pain threshold occurs in the 2-4N range.

Our clients often incorporate this product, along with additional tissue components, into their own fixtures to create custom models.

Our patented SynTissue™ brand synthetic human tissue components are designed on the basis of physical tests performed on actual living tissue, and each synthetic tissue is validated (tensile modulus, abrasion resistance, penetration force, etc) under the same physical conditions as the live tissue it is designed to simulate. The resulting synthetic tissue responds to stimulus much like the real living tissue.

Product is shipped vacuum packed in storage fluid (Part Number A-FLD-A-0005). Shelf life is guaranteed to be at least three years.
